Estratto Caffè started the way a good shot does — under pressure, in a small space, with people who already knew what they were doing. We just decided to do it for ourselves. Now we bring that craft to weddings, corporate gatherings, and private events, wherever the occasion deserves better coffee.
Abbi has loved coffee since she was old enough to reach the counter. She started working at a tea shop at fifteen, and it didn't take long before she moved into espresso — training as a barista at two well-known coffee companies, then working her way up to trainer and team lead at both. Somewhere in there, the coffee she made for friends and family stopped being a side thing and became what she wanted to build a life around.
Good espresso is just patience, pressure, and knowing exactly when to stop.
Coffee isn't a trend we picked up — it's where we're from. My parents are from Ecuador, and Dee's parents are from Nicaragua, two countries that grow beans the rest of the world desires. Even the family tree brings in a third tradition — my eldest daughter, Evy, is half Cuban, and grew up loving Cuban-style coffee long before any of us made it a business. We grew up around coffee before we ever worked in it: family gatherings, kitchens, the smell of it in the morning.
That's the part that doesn't show up on paper.

I'm Albert, dad, husband, and the one handling the day-to-day while working the bar next to Abbi. I worked the counter at a Cuban café before moving up to front-of-house manager, put in several more years in hospitality, and have spent over twenty years in customer satisfaction and sales. Running a floor, keeping a line moving, sending people off happier than they came in — that's what I bring to Estratto.
Dee started in hospitality young too, and spent years since making sure people felt taken care of, wherever she worked. At Estratto, she's the one who keeps the back end running and keeps us connected to the people we serve. Dee sees our clients through from the first email to the last cup.
My eldest daughter Evy isn't behind the counter with us — she's spent her own five-plus years in hospitality and has carved her own path in the field of science. Fiercely protective, endlessly warm, and always the first one bringing the fun into a room. Even from a distance, she's part of why this feels like a family thing and not just a business.
